Low and Golden / new poems 2011

I Have Seen My Arab Heart

I have seen my Arab heart
In a dozen eyes
As familiar as my own
That stare across
This desert America
With hope beating
The blood of sisters,
The blood of brothers
Across four continents,
Across seven oceans.

Nice piece. You capture a longing in this poem. Like a sad song.
