Born in Bismarck, North Dakota and now living in Western New York, James Goertel's work has appeared in Manifold, LucidPlay, and Ascent Aspirations. He is the author of Carry Each His Burden, his debut fiction collection. He currently teaches writing at Penn State Erie.
